Depth of Field
These photos I took in class of small windup toys. To create a large depth of field I used a large f-stop (22) to make a small opening. To create a smaller depth of field I used a small f-stop (2.8) to make a large opening. To adjust the focus I twisted back and forth the lens. I think the middle photo is the best because the other two toys are completely blurred and the first is not. A shallow depth of field would be used to capture detail and a large depth of field would be good to create landscapes or cityscapes.
Depth of Space
For my first photo my nail polish was the subject matter. For the second I photographed the Christmas village set up in my house. Both are foreground, middleground, background. The pictures both have shallow depths of field.
