Photo Series 1
Photo Series 2
My photos share the history of Somerset through focus of it's foundation and it's old industries. Some photos focus on the Brightman Street Bridge along with the Taunton River. The Taunton River was the support of many industries such as ship building, trading, and fishing which is why I tried to highlight the water in many of my pictures. Because the Brightman Street Bridge is longer in use I think it gives the photos a silent, calm but eerie effect. I took photo number 8 at Waterfront Park of the Taunton River. I crouched down and shot between the chains hoping to gain a nice framing effect of the land and water. The calm water allowed for the flawless reflection of the sky on the water. I hoped for this photo to communicate the history of the ferry industry that ran between Fall River and Somerset. Photo 12 was taken of the Brightman Street Bridge. I tried to capture the repetition of shapes of the bridge's beams.
